Can this be made using IGM?

Hey guys,

I have been playing Cookie Clicker for years, but only found out about Idle Game Maker recently. I have an idea for a game, but I'm not sure if it's possible to make it happen using IGM's game engine only.

My idea would be to make a farm game. You start with just your farmer (whom you click to make money, as per usual) and either an empty background of a grassy field or a grassy field with some destroyed buildings.

The way this would be different from other games is that I would like to arrange it in a way that, when the player buys unlocks something (crops, animals, buildings), that would be visually reflected on the screen.

After that, I would like for the same to happen for upgrades as well (i.e: buy a bike and a bicycle appears somewhere on the map; buy a car and it will replace the bike).

Is it possible to achieve such a thing using only the Idle Game Maker?

    As far as I know (I have only been using it for a couple of days) you cannot change "icons" or "backgrounds" during the game. If you could there would probably have been a game using this feature right now.

    For instance, I wanted to make a game with monsters that you have to kill, and then get enough gold to buy your way into a boss fight. The changing images would have made it easy to have different monsters to click, but that is not in the engine as far as I know.

    To get around this, (I just started the game yesterday, so I don't even know if this works yet) I made multiple buttons, but I made them only appear when I want them to.

    We should suggest this to the team because you could make full fledged games with this feature. Imagine this: If you only have an upgrades box and screen and have tons of upgrades, you could manipulate the images in a way that it would be "pixels". This could be used to make tons of games like tetris and guitar hero.

    To sum it all up, probably wouldn't work for now. (Wow that was a long message)

    I know that Cookie Clicker has several different backgrounds coded in. Would it be possible to just change the entire background and triggering it when you purchase certain things instead? I don't know what are the background transition requirements for the original Cookie Clicker game.

    I am 99% sure that Cookie Clicker is not related to IGM at all. Cookie Clicker was made way before and not on IGM. This means that things that are in Cookie Clicker may or may not be possible in IGM

    This is not a proper answer, but I think I saw a game with changing backgrounds on the old version, not sure what it was or where it is now but it's something.
