Dumping that in there.
Honestly, I went full nonsense ham in there. Not trying to prove anything nor explain stuff. Just doing somewhat of work here. So yea. We saw "An Inconvenient Truth" at school, and so we had to do a rambling stuff about global warming or something like that. Since the subject is pretty damn vast, I went my own way. Going a little over the top at the end, but hey, bunnies.
The text follows.
"An Inconvenient Truth"
The politician Al Gore developed a theory about the great increase global warming during the last decades, explaining its causes and consequences, and trying to raise awareness about this issue. According to his terms, global warming is greatly caused from human activities and the pollution resulting of those. He bases his statements out of many scientific experiments from world-famous scientific research labs.
First and foremost, the great increase of Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide, measured at Mauna Loa in Hawaii. Carbon Dioxide is a gas that, once in the atmosphere, blocks the sunbeams form going out of it. Part of the sunlight that reaches Earth-ground will heat it up, and part of it will bounce back into outer space. With atmospheric carbon dioxide greatly increasing, much less sun beams with bounce back, and a lot more will go back on Earth to heat it up. Since carbon dioxide is a gas that is mass produced due to human activities, being part of pollution, it is safe to say that human activities are hazardous towards Earth. Because a slight change in Earth's ecosystem will result in great changes regarding life on the planet's surface, it being plants or animals.
Global warming caused by atmospheric carbon dioxide can create disastrous chain reactions. A great example would be the retreat of numerous glaciers. Because of sunbeams bouncing back towards Earth, the oceans are heated up, and therefore, the glaciers around it. Greenland and Antarctica being great example of this phenomenon: heated waters makes surrounding ice melt. This causes chunks of glaciers to fall apart in the sea, where they melt. This rises the sea level, putting inshore cities in jeopardy. Entire cities such as New York will be submerged. With the sea heating up, the current that greatly depend on the temperature will change, creating waves upon waves of natural disasters such as typhoons and tsunamis. Another thing to consider is that ice is a great shield against solar beams, because the sunlight bounces on it without heating it up. The ice fields on the poles are keeping the Earth cooler, but with the temperature raising in the surrounding waters, and the ice melting, the phenomenon is only growing faster and faster.
During Al Gore's presentation, we are shown numerous graphs about diverse changes, such as the thickness of ice in Alaska, or the temperature over the last billion years or so, using ice drilling in the North Pole. Al those graphs show the same tendency over the years: the numbers are growing abnormally as time reaches our current area. Thins that were going steadily over thousands of years suddenly changes, all because of human actives and pollution. It shown that, if we keep on taking that dangerous path, humanity will set its own end in a matter of years. The facts all point to this conclusion: global warming is going faster as time goes by, and it is what will cause our fall.
