    Game Review

    - The game looks and plays similar to Jelly Miner. Unless you were aiming for that, it's not
    a good way to begin your 2nd game.
    - No achievements. I understand the game is in Beta, but you could of spent a little more
    time to add achievements.
    -Uhhhh....

    I can't really give a score because
    1. It is Short
    2. It is in Beta
    So give it a few more updates before you get a proper review.
    Oof

    I didn't personally like Jelly Miner, and I thought I'd restart to make something I would truly enjoy expanding and creating. As this still is in a huge beta I will be adding more content gradually. It's not that I was aiming to be like Jelly Miner, I was hoping to replace it.

    You game looks pretty nice. Here are some suggestions about gameplay and layout:

    Gameplay:
    1) Major flaw: allow to sell only 1 type of item. Being forced to sell your 1000 bloodstones because you need 500 cash is non-sense.
    2) Allow to sell a given number of items instead of all (e.g. 1 / 50 / 10% / 50% / all)
    3) Same for smelting, although it's less important
    4) When selling an odd number of raw coals, we lose 1. It's a minor flaw but I felt scammed! I assume it is the same for all items that sell to a half-integer value.
    5) Add achievement and upgrade progression, so we know if there is more to discover.

    Layout:
    1) Reduce size of ore icons by A LOT (maybe like that?) and increase their section vertical size (one single ore icon already does not fit vertically). Pickaxe section does not need to be that big.
    2) sell and smelt buttons are partially hidden by the ore section (on Firefox and Chrome at least).
    3) Add a option to remove all descriptive pop-ups.
    4) Rename "buildings" to "miners" or "workers".
    5) Put zones into a different section.
    6) 100 coals and 100 iron ingots have the same achievement name ("fuel the fire").
    7) Bloodstone description: "that doesn't fit it's its name"
    8) Iron ingot description: "and is worth worthing more than"
    9) Mummy party description: "so many mummys mummies!"

    Anyway it looks promising, I will keep in touch.

    Does the universe have a temporal end? Either yes or no, the answer is absolutely frightening...

    Cool, but not really looking and the icons are too big.

    @2110 Layout is beyond me because I truthfully suck at stylesheeting. Thanks for picking up many of these mistakes though. And for @MaxYorsh1 I can fix the icons (which means redoing every icon in the game sigh...) but apart from that thanks for feedback.
    P.S i suck at art in every way so don't get your hopes too high on that department ;-;

    @RadicalRobot, I can make graphics for you, send me a layout of what I have to do. Do not pay attention to errors in my comments, I am Russian.

    @RadicalRobot, How do you like this sentence?
  • RadicalRobotRadicalRobot Posts: 39Member ✭✭
    @MaxYorsh1 I'm fine for art at the moment, really I was just saying not to bug me about my bad art. The only thing I'd get help from another person is stylesheeting, since that is definitely something I want changed. Thanks for suggesting, though.

    The most valuable ore I'm producing in the game right now is Gold. I've tried buying large amounts of buildings, but there are no new upgrades for more valuable ores. What do I do to unlock the next tier of ores?

    never mind lol

    Sorry @trashbinprod if it wasn't clear enough on where to go. I can change this in other updates (maybe at it to the About section). Anyways thanks for playing!

    My suggestions (Beta 1.2):

    1. I am unable to smelt my cobalt ingots because there’s an error in the code which makes me lose all my cobalt ingots instead of my cobalt ore when I smelt. Can you please fix this?

    2. I am only able to obtain 1 sand crystal per click on the desert recipe. Is it ok if the most possible sand crystals are made from all the ores that I have?

    Thank you

    @CarbonicAcid Thanks for the feedback! I have changed the cobalt ingot bug so now it works as intended. For the desert recipe, I have made it craft more crystals at a time, as I am not sure how to make it do max. Thanks!

    @RadicalRobot I might have an idea for creating maximum sand crystals. Why not you find the smallest amount out of the gold ingots, Coppet ingots and amber since you need 1 of each to create 1 sand crystal. After that you subtract the lowest amount from all three resources and give the person that amount of sand crystals.
  • RadicalRobotRadicalRobot Posts: 39Member ✭✭
    @CarbonicAcid I don't believe there is a way to find the smallest amount of a resource. Correct me if I'm wrong!

    on click:
    if (have DesertRecipe)
    if (GoldIngot<Amber)
    if (GoldIngot<BronzeIngot)
    lose GoldIngot Amber
    lose GoldIngot BronzeIngot
    yield GoldIngot SandCrystal
    lose GoldIngot
    else
    lose BronzeIngot Amber
    lose BronzeIngot GoldIngot
    yield BronzeIngot SandCrystal
    lose BeonzeIngot
    end
    else
    if (Amber<BronzeIngot)
    lose Amber BronzeIngot
    lose Amber GoldIngot
    yield Amber SandCrystal
    lose Amber
    else
    lose BronzeIngot Amber
    lose BronzeIngot GoldIngot
    yield BronzeIngot SandCrystal
    lose BronzeIngot
    end
    end
    end
    end

    @RadicalRobot would this work?

    i haven't used igm, but i think i know what's wrong, on golden compass you wrote passive:multiply yield of GoldOre by 2 , but on bloodstone pendant you wrote passive:multiply Pickaxe yield of Bloodstone by 2 , sorry if this isn't the problem i tried
  • RadicalRobotRadicalRobot Posts: 39Member ✭✭
    @Acod In the handbook, it says you can go passive:multiply yield of thingSelector2 by thingSelector1, which means you can select individual resources to have better yield from a certain source, which is what the entire point is.

    I don't know if Acod answered your question already, but if he did, then here it is again

    passive:multiply Pickaxe yield of Bloodstone by 2
    passive:multiply yield of Pickaxe by Bloodstone
    If it still doesn't work, I'd recommend you remove it or edit it heavily.

    actually scratch, that. It's not the problem. It's this.

    the code is perfectly fine, it's just this that is the problem.
    passive:
    on click:
    both don't work, even by themselves because of this message.
    please help fix, i will even post on the developer discussion for answers

    i think you messed something up with the desert recipe, try redoing it?
  • RadicalRobotRadicalRobot Posts: 39Member ✭✭
    @Acod After removing the Golden Compass and the Bloodstone Pendant, the game runs perfectly. There is something wrong with the code that I don't know how to fix.

    @RadicalRobot try pasting the pastebin code into a different pastebin file, then use that pastebin url code
    maybe that'll work

    honestly you should just try to start over, doesn't seem like this is fixable
