A quick way to turn images transparent?

tobias_leadtobias_lead Member Posts: 22 ✭✭
Sorry if this doesn't really fit the category or I sound like a total NEWB, but what's a quick and easy way to turn my icons transparent (as in, the icon isn't a solid square so you can see past it)? What's a free software I can use for it?

Why don't you just find an image that is transparent in the first place? Or does that not work? I've never tried that before. It's worth a try, though.
