This game isn't realistic

Greetings. I wish to complain about the fact this game is not realistic. Indeed, I'm on a run and I'm about to reach the septillion of cookies baked, and I talked about it with a friend. My friend did some calculations about it.

Assuming to the fact a cookie has a diameter of 6cm and a height of 1.5 cm. The surface of the earth is around 51x10^6 km². If ever we manage to place the cookies on a perfectly flat surface, they would cover... 28x10^24 km²!

So yeah, of course, we got warehouses so we can use height to our advantage... Let's say we place the cookies all over the surface of the planet, and then we add a layer of cookies each time a layer is full (to make it simpler, we say the earth is perfectly round). The height of all of the layers would be 83x10^15 km! And remember, the distance between earth and sun is 15x10^7...

So yeah, we would touch the sun! We would all burn! This game is unrealistic!

Okay, let me get this straight.

We have devices for turning antimatter, gold, pure light, among other things, into cookies. We also mine them out of the ground, grow them on a farm, etc. These are basic things that we can do before even ascending once - don't even get me started on that.

And this is what got you to think "this game isn't realistic"?

    'Heart' = Earth?

    That's some weird typo.

Err... Oops >.<" Not a typo I usually do. English isn't my native language, and I totally confused the two words......

Of course, I know all of that, I wouldn't be that far otherwise. But I just wanted to add a little extra information about the unrealistic part... Yeah, I'm aware since the beginning this isn't realistic, and I don't play video games for that. (nor little javascript games like cookie clicker either)

Actually, it's not quite that bad. I think you might have mixed up cm and km.

One septillion cookies of that size spread flat would take up 3.1×10^25 cm^2, which is 3.1×10^15 km^2. (I'm saying 31 instead of 28 because circles don't tile perfectly, but whatever.)

If you collected them all into a ball, they'd take up a volume of 4.2×10^25 cm^3, or 4.2×10^10 km^3. That's a ball with a radius of 2200 km, less than the size of earth. And I think if they were on the surface of the earth, packed tightly, they'd only pile up 81 km deep. No big deal.

There's a discussion of what would happen if you collected together 602 sextillion small rodents, which are about the same size and material as cookies: https://what-if.xkcd.com/4/

Only the cookies touching the Sun would get burnt. The rest would still be ok to eat. The cookies at the top of the stack will freeze in space and be preserved, so we'll have to eat the bottom ones first.

The cookies will never burn up iin the sun nor freeze in space since they will burn up when they reach the thermosphere. However, at lower altitudes they may help to offset climate change by contributing to global dimming. Provided our cookies are produced and transported using carbon neutral energy sources, we could really be onto something here.

If it were in real life, the universe would be half-buried in cookies.

He's not asking if it's in real life, he's asking if it is real life.

Cookie Clicker is real life. In fact, it's more real than real life. It's superreal life, hyperreal life. It will become all forms, all meanings, all modes of life for you.

    Resistance is futile.

In some cases it could be bad, but let's face it.

I would say it depends on the cookie. I like ooey gooey rich and chewy cookies.

I prefer nutty crunchy ones, but certain gooey ones have their place. Anzac bikkies are nice. I must say I do have pause for thought now every time I scan a 12-pack of Anzac biscuits at the SM checkout. Twelve is not very many in the context of Cookie Clicker.

it's pretty obvious to me that all the cookies are storaged in the cookieverse dimension.
  • bob_32_116bob_32_116 Member Posts: 651 ✭✭✭
In the cookieverse, cookies are the dominant lifeform and are at the top of the food chain, and people are considered a delicacy.

Cookies took over after we gave them AI
