Is there a way to make a resource that gets more expensive to buy over time, like a building?

In my game, I want to have a resource that costs other resources to buy, but I want it to get more expensive over time. Is there any way to do that? Alternatively, is there a way to have a building that when bought, just simply gives a resource instead of a building?
I don't know what to put here.
